Our Fall 2010 College Football Predictions

It’s that time of year again.  Time to settle down on your couch for a Saturday filled with beer, pizza and college football.

We at Wright Strategies have a wide array of picks for this year’s standout team, from the ultimate underdogs to a few top 10 teams.  Here's the breakdown:

Jessica: This year the Texas Longhorns will be heading to Glendale, Arizona in January, not to ring in the New Year with a little ol’ Fiesta, but to finish the season strong with the university’s 5th National Title.  With Garret Gilbert getting some early, real-life experience in the big game as a true freshman last season, he’s already primed and ready to steer the Horns back for a Texas-sized redemption. Hook ‘em!

Chris: I’m rooting for the University of Oregon because I’m from Oregon.  And I like all 384 combinations of their uniforms.  Go Ducks!

Rebekah: Well, maybe not the national champions, but I'm hoping Baylor will make it to a bowl game this year!  Our stud QB Robert Griffin, who is finally back after his heartbreaking injury last season, and amazing coach Art Briles have the fans ready for a new era in Baylor football.  Because the fans are ready to have something to cheer about.  Sic ‘em Bears!

Justin: From the depths of the Sun Belt conference come the mighty Warhawks of The University of Louisiana at Monroe, poised to become a national champion in 2010. With a remarkable 4-8 finish last year, ULM surprised their many fans (who assumed they would go 3-9) and have a real shot at taking the title this year. Set your DVRs for September 11 when the title run begins with Arkansas as the first victim. Go Warhawks!

Kendra: I’m going to go with the University of Alabama, because I like winners.  Roll Tide!

Aaron: On September 4, I will be a HUGE Oregon State Beavers fan. Even though there aren’t any TCU fans in the Austin office, I’ll steal any bragging rights I can about a school I didn’t go to beating a school they didn’t go to. After that, I’m going to root for any Oregon team with a shot at the Rose Bowl.

Jeremy: YOUR Portland State Vikings will battle against all odds to compete for, and eventually win the national championship this year, further clouding the water of the BCS system and overall strength of schedule factoring. They will trounce the pre-season ranked #11 Oregon Ducks in Eugene 55-13 on September 18th on the strength of my cheering alone. This victory propels them into the national spotlight (coupled with their unlikely come-from-behind season opening victory over Arizona State).

David: I’m rooting for the good ol’ University of Texas.  After the upset in the championship game last year, I am ready to see The University of Texas take the title by the Horns (pun intended).  Also, I hope to get tickets to a game this year, as I have never been!
